TYPES
FC and FSF plywood types
FC and FSF are two major types of plywood, differing in the type of adhesive composition and areas of application.
FC plywood
(carbamide glue)
Adhesive: Carbamide (urea-formaldehyde).
Moisture resistance: Average
Application:
Interior decoration. Furniture manufacturing. Decorative and construction work in dry conditions.
Features:
Environmentally friendly (low content of harmful substances).
Suitable for use in residential premises.
Less resistant to moisture compared to FSF.
FSF plywood
(phenol-formaldehyde glue)
Adhesive: Phenol-formaldehyde
Moisture resistance:
High
Application:
External construction work.
Formwork production.
Manufacture of transport structures and floors, shipbuilding
Features:
Increased strength and moisture resistance.
May be used in conditions of high humidity and even outdoors.
Contains phenol formaldehyde resins, so it can emit volatile compounds (less environment friendly than FC).
